Basic Interests:

Some of my interests include but are not limited to spending time with family and friends.  I do enjoy both, spending time 'one on one' with most of my friends, I also enjoy getting together for the larger social gatherings either at someone else's house or mine.  I enjoy being outside around a campfire, camping is something I enjoy very much. I would love to have horses again, riding and just being around them has always been very good personal therapy for me.

Music:

I'm bit all over the board on this one. I mostly listen to both "70's on 7" and "80's on 8" via Direct TV connection right now. I'm mostly into country but also like Journey, Air Supply, Whitesnake, Cher, Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, to name a few.

Movies & Television:

As far as movies go, I am mostly into dramas and a lot of the action flicks. I love watching Vin Diesel. I also enjoy a lot of science fiction/fantasy, stuff like Lord of the Rings and movies dealing with King Arthur’s Court style England.  However, I must add that some of my all time favorite films are "Dances With Wolves", "Steel Magnolias", "Lonesome Dove", "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing".  When it comes to Television, I like pretty much all the CSI shows, but prefer CSI New York; I get mostly into the real time detective shows like Forensic Files, Cold Case Files and stuff like that.  I am also a huge fan of the History Channel(s), Animal Planet, Discovery(s) and the Military Channel.  I have never cared much for sitcoms, soap operas and I absolutely hate game shows.

Books & Literature:

Mostly Science Fiction, primarily Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series right now. Although I am curious as to how it will all end since he passed away before completing the series.  I also like the Herald Mage series by Mercedes Lackey. I do read some romance, I like early American Western settings.  I am particularly fond of Rosemary Rogers "Sweet Savage Love" series, and Kathleen Woodiwiss novels "The Flame and the Flower", "The Wolf and the Dove" and "Black Heart".  I have a large collection of romance novels by Karen Kay; whose writings place American Indians as main characters. She has done extensive research into their culture and it is reflected in her work.  Maybe in time I'll get interested in the "Twilight" series, but I just don't have a lot of time for sitting down and reading right now.

Miscellaneous:

When not spending time with family and friends, I enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes.  I remember my Mother telling me once that her kitchen was not a laboratory because I sometimes like to create my own dishes, which are not always edible creations.  Collecting recipes and cookbooks is something that my Mother and I shared.  Right now I almost need a whole room devoted to storing those that I have already collected over the years.

While I haven't been able to do it in years, I have always enjoyed oil painting on canvas and have often thought about how nice it would be to have a house large enough to have a studio.  I have also enjoyed working with ceramics but have unfortunately given the greater majority of it away as gifts.

I absolutely love shopping at thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales and garage sales.  I love doing this alone or with a friend and having lunch together.

I love photography and hope to one day be able to create a pictorial history of my hometown and the surrounding areas.
